Nuisance motorbikes

Officers received numerous calls for service on Fairfield yesterday due to reports of 2 males riding a motorbike in a dangerous manner to themselves and other road users.

On attending the area police located the bike and riders, but it made off onto the estate.  A quick search resulted in the bike and riders being apprehended.

Motorbikes are far too often used in an anti-social, illegal, and dangerous way. This can result in a police prosecution not only for the rider, but, in some cases their parents, who are held accountable for the actions of their children.
If you or your child are caught using a motor vehicle illegally in public spaces, do not expect to be let off with a warning. Expect your vehicle to be seized and your driver’s licence to be endorsed with penalty points.

In this case the 2 people responsible have been reported for the offences identified and the bike was seized due to no insurance.

You the residents of Fairfield have told us that nuisance and anti-social behaviour from motorbikes is an issue you want local police to prioritise.
